Hey, Another Trumpster Running for Office! And This One is Barely Literate!

Hey everybody, meet David B. Vincent Sr., resident of Georgia, Vermont and candidate for town Selectboard. He’s running against former state representative and senator Carolyn Branagan. And I’m going to take you on a merry tour of his Facebook page. In addition to the usual Trumpster memes, it also features commentaries by Vincent that are so badly written, it’s hard to tell what he meant to say. For instance, I’ve never heard “bitch in a nut” before, but maybe that’s a Franklin County colloquialism.

Before I go on, let me make it clear that the voters of Georgia can elect whomever they want, just as the people of Barre are free to elect Brian Judd and/or Timothy Boltin. But they ought to know what Mr. Vincent gets up to online. It’s not pleasant. Here’s some additional commentary on the subject of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Ooooookay. It’s better for him when he simply posts memes instead of writing for himself.

For those keeping score at home, that image insults one white woman, one Black woman and one Jew. Not that we should impute racism and misogyny to Mr. Vincent, oh no. Probably just a coincidence.

Vincent is not a fringe figure in Georgia. He’s on the town planning commission and the town Board of Civil Authority. He’s mainstream, God help us. Now, maybe he’s got a good sensible head for local affairs and it’s just national politics that drives him round the bend. But his broader political views give me pause.

To judge by the quality of his prose, I’d wonder if the guy can read. Like, read official documents and understand them.

He is, as you’d expect, a fan of President Trump.

Yeah, let’s hope “he comes back into 24.”

Finally, here’s a lovely combo platter of racism, misogyny, trans-bashing and Obama hate.

There’s more, but that’s enough. I have a hard time seeing the good people of Georgia choosing this guy over a former state lawmaker, but then I’m not a close follower of the town’s political scene. Maybe this is the kind of person the voters prefer.

If so, go ahead and vote for him. But I wouldn’t.

    Hello,

I love your newsletter. I live in Barre and you spelled both Brian Judd and Tim Boltin’s name wrong. In case you can pull back the ones sent and correct, thought I would let you know.

    Thanks,

A JP! This is the sort that took over Kansas politics for 40 years. They started with local offices and went upward, screwing the whole state so thoroughly that Thomas Frank wrote the book, “What’s the Matter with Kansas?”

The aberrant misconduct, lies, deception, ignorance, criminality, malfeasance, evil, etc. of nearly all politicians in time is substantially evidenced by their factual personal histories whether it be their voting records on legislation, their sexual assaults, misappropriation of campaign funds, internationally illegal military invasions of sovereign nations without UN consensus with incalculably unimaginable human tragedy, implied consent to dismemberment by the order of the Saudi Prince of a Washington Post Journalist/United States legal resident reporting on the US/Saudi genocide in Yemen and bragging about multi-million dollar arms deals with the Saudi Prince to slaughter innocent human beings holding up a Bible in the name of Jesus Christ, having hidden children from extra-marital affairs (polygamy), paying hush money to prostitutes, berating females, berating people of various ethnicities, berating the handicapped or disabled, ad infinitum; these are just politicians who do their typical, historically documented misdeeds and practice inhumane behaviour towards humanity so their supporters are simply a reflection of that very same character with some nuances but substantially the same in thinking. Low level citizens/voters simply aren’t in a position of power to carry out their deep-seated desire to cause great injustice and human tragedy so the most they’re capable of is voting for and endorsing those who can; they’re of like mind. Rationalization and justification is typical, e.g.: “Well I voted for the lesser of the two evils.” The truth be told you are who you are no excuses and your values and principles are represented by who you endorse and vote for. I never vote. There’s never been a single candidate that I could honestly say was a decent human being that represented my values. Bernie Sanders could’ve possibly been an exception but he got nowhere in the end. I made the mistake of voting one time in my life and that was in the 2000 election when GWB was selected as president anyway. Most Americans will never in their lives do an honest assessment of themselves and own up to what they truly are both on the positive and the negative. C’est la vie.
