Penny For the Guy?

It’s been several months since I pointed out the “Donate” option on this here blog and asked readers to consider a one-time or recurring contribution. I try not to push it too much, but once in a while…

There are many causes far worthier than mine competing for your dollar. I will not try to claim special status, and as usual I urge you to support the nonprofit causes of your choice. Food banks, homeless shelters, flood relief, journalistic outlets, so many needs, even in a place as relatively blessed as Vermont.

But hey. If you appreciate the insight I bring to the table or just enjoy my writing, think about putting a dollar value on your readership. If it’s worth your time, maybe it’s worth a few bucks.

I’m constantly keeping an eye on events. I write blogposts at least three times a week, usually four, sometimes five. I’ve been writing about Vermont politics since 2011, so I bring a lot of experience and knowledge to the table.

There is no paywall here, nor will there ever be. Honor system. Please give it a thought.

And even if you don’t give me a dime, I do thank you for your attention.

It’s not money, but I can give you a tip: McNeil and the proposed steam transmission line to UVMMC is a dumb, dumb, dumb project. If you are looking for a ratholes for fungible ratepayer and taxpayer funds, there aren’t many that are worse than this one. McNeil requires millions in operating subsidies while being the biggest stationary GHG polluter in the state.

Of course, Dems are deep into the scandal, so not so appealing for VT Digger and friends.

I so often fail at this digital stuff. I suppose it’s because I used the not expired debit card laying on a table within reach, saving the steps to get the one (same account) that I activated last night. After this message I will get up out of this comfortable chair, get the fresh one, and try again. To slightly introduce myself, I call myself a bachelor farmer, no cell phone, kind of clueless in this digital culture. Born a little before 1940, doing the best I can. Getting to VT in 1962, just graduated, (Antioch college, Yellow Springs, Ohio) tagging after 3yr older brother. WDEV for media, still tune in, now much of its ads and some people, programs pretty repulsive and offed. Followed that brother to East Charlotte, joined in pottery partnership in 1965. Got very lucky buying some spare farmland for spare change to live on, for old man gig sold around 2002, now short flat driveway, vinyl siding, indoor plumbing, in a little neighborhood just east of the Shelburne Museum. Please note: http://www.rootsofempathy.org. Also a book of that name by Mary Gordon (in Shelburne and Charlotte libraries, request it at yours. Dear leaders: please get upstream of our sadly degrading society to begin some improvement. People Also I think it would really be useful to “splain” all about that educational tax exempt organization called Ethan Allen Institute. I know that the commentary each afternoon by its founder on WDEV don’t have to follow the educational non profit rules, but I think he probably reflects many of the larger donors of that organization which purchases radio broadcast time and use of the call in numbers daily. Best wishes, Ted Sorry for not correcting after proof read Sent from my iPad
